32nd Human Resources Development Working Group Meeting

The 32nd Human Resources Development Working Group convened 24-28 February 2010 in Hiroshima, Japan, under the APEC 2010 them of "Change and Action." Participants of the 32nd HRDWG meeting discussed many topics of great importance to APEC, including progress toward the Bogor Goals, responses to and recovery from the global economic crisis, and other HRDWG priorities such as promoting regional economic integration and enhancing human security.
HRDWG and the APEC 2010 Leaders' Growth Strategy
At the conclusion of APEC 2010, the APEC Leaders' Growth Strategy was released to determine how best to pursue APEC's economic and human resource development goals in the future. Recognizing the changing world and new demands of the 21st Century, the Leaders concluded that "APEC members cannot continue with "growth as usual" and that the "quality of growth" needs to be improved, so that it will be more balanced, inclusive, sustainable, innovative, and secure. This is essential even as we pursue APEC's core objective of a vigorous trade and investment agenda aimed at strengthening economic integration in the Asia-Pacific region."
