Implementing TVET Programs amid the Financial Crisis

The Implementing TVET Programs amid the Financial Crisis Fourm was held November 18 through 20, 2009 as part of the APEC Forum on Human Resources Development. Since 1996, the annual APEC Forum on Human Resources Development has been jointly hosted by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and the Overseas Vocational Training Association as a cooperative project by the Labour and Social Protection Network and the Human Resources Development Working Group of APEC. These fora contribute to the APEC and HRDWG priority area of CTE/TVET. Representatives from APEC economies who mainly work in policymaking in occupational skills development attended this event. The ‘Task Force for Employment and Social Safety’ was established to set up policy responses to crisis at the central government level. In the early 2009, many additional policy measures were established and executed. |
